If you are suspected of DUI the police officer will ask you to submit to Field Sobriety Tests. To learn more, read: The Eye Test; Walk and Turn; 1 Leg Stand; and 3 Thrings You Need to Know about Field Sobriety Tests.
It is important to know your rights and what to do if the police arrest you for a DUI this weekend. Here is what I would do if I was arrested for Drunk Driving.
If you plan on being out and about this independence day make sure you drive carefully, follow all traffic rules, and make sure your vehicle is in good working order. Police will be looking for ways and reasons to pull you over. having a tail light or license tag light out may give the police officer enough reason to pull you over. If you add in poor driving or the smell of alcohol and the police will have enough reason to question you for part of a DUI investigation.
I wish everyone a happy Fourth of July! Remember to drive safely and enjoy being around your family. If you do drink, designate a sober driver to make sure that everyone arrives safely and out of any legal trouble.
